Academician Veljko Milkovic is a Serbian, internationally awarded researcher and inventor with interests spanning past events, ecology, clean technologies, and futuristic projects. He has developed around 120 inventions across various technical fields and holds 31 granted patents, some of which have been in use for decades. One of his most notable innovations is the Self-Heating Ecological House, an advanced passive solar house design that enables significant energy savings in heating, cooling, and lighting. Based on his designs, several eco-houses have been built across Serbia and have been in successful use for decades.

His scientific research has focused extensively on gravitational phenomena, anti-gravitational experiments, inertial propulsion, and pendulum drive systems. Milkovic is widely recognized as the “father” of pendulum pump technology—an innovative water supply system driven by an oscillating pendulum that significantly eases water pumping.

Veljko Milkovic is also a leading authority on the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia, a 330-year-old Habsburg Empire fortification that he has explored for more than 65 years. In 1965, he discovered a “code” that unlocked the complex 20-kilometer-long underground military gallery system beneath the fortress, enabling faster and safer exploration. He later created an alternative guide service for the fortress area and became the first author to comprehensively document both the fortress and its deep underground structures, filling a major gap in historical literature.

Throughout his career, he has delivered numerous public lectures on archaeological discoveries and historical mysteries, presenting a unique and extensive personal collection of minerals, fossils, and remnants of previous civilizations gathered from the middle Danube river basin.

Milkovic is a full academician and member of the Serbian Academy of Inventors and Scientists (SAIN) and the European Academy of Sciences (EAN). He was a pioneer and founding member of the Solar Energy Association at the University of Novi Sad in 1976 and currently serves as president of the Veljko Milkovic Research & Development Center, a scientific organization he co-founded in 2009.

He is the author or co-author of 18 books, brochures, and other publications, many of which have been translated into multiple languages and inspired feature documentary films. Notable titles include Solar Sod Houses: the House of the Future, Ecological Houses, Towards Anti-Gravitation: Compact Vehicles, Anti-Gravity Motor, Perpetuum Mobile, Gravitational Machines: From Leonardo da Vinci to the Latest Discoveries, and Energy of Oscillations: from an Idea to the Realization. In addition, he has published influential feuilletons and scripts and authored more than twenty scientific and technical papers in the fields of energy and ecology, while participating in approximately thirty scientific conferences and research projects.

His work has inspired hundreds of scientific papers by international scholars and has served as the foundation for numerous bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral theses worldwide. He is recognized as the most cited independent researcher from the Balkans, with around 100 scientific citations in the field of mechanical oscillations alone, published in leading international journals.

Over several decades, Milkovic has received numerous national and international awards, including the November Charter of the City of Novi Sad (2002), a gold medal from the Novi Sad Fair for his pendulum-driven hand water pump, recognition of his Two-Stage Mechanical Oscillator as one of the world’s Top 100 Energy Technologies by the New Energy Congress (2006), multiple Energy Globe Awards, and the Tesla Spirit Award in 2024 for realizing Nikola Tesla’s vision of gravity-driven machines.

Born in 1949 in Subotica, Serbia, Veljko Milkovic has lived in Novi Sad since 1952, where he completed his education at the University of Novi Sad. His enduring areas of expertise include the history of inventions and scientific discoveries.
