Holding a PhD in Photovoltaics from the University of Stuttgart in Germany, he has built a global career spanning Germany, China, Turkey, the USA, and India, contributing to major advancements in high‑efficiency solar technologies and the worldwide renewable energy ecosystem.

As the Founder & CEO of UPGREAT, Dr. Tobail supports emerging and established markets in developing and scaling solar manufacturing capabilities—from wafers and high‑efficiency cells to modules, battery systems, and integrated energy‑storage solutions. His work focuses on transferring advanced technology into regions accelerating their clean‑energy transition. Through close collaboration with manufacturers, research institutes, and industry partners, he delivers scalable, reliable, and future‑ready solar and storage solutions.

Before founding UPGREAT, Dr. Tobail held senior technical leadership roles at Qcells, Jupiter International, RCT Solutions, Centrotherm, and Kingenious, where he contributed to breakthroughs in TOPCon, tandem solar technologies, and next‑generation production systems. His leadership supported the scale‑up of multi‑GW manufacturing facilities, strengthened industrial competitiveness, and advanced high‑efficiency cell and module innovation across multiple global markets.
