David Zarco González is a recognized leader in the renewable energy sector, with over 22 years of international experience in the development, construction, asset management, and opening of new markets for photovoltaic projects and energy storage systems (BESS). From the early stages of his career, David has played a key role in the expansion of renewables, standing out as an initial team member of X-ELIO, where he contributed decisively to the design, development, and execution of projects in Spain, Italy, France, South Africa, Oman, Latin America, and the United States. His work was instrumental in markets where renewables did not yet have a consolidated presence, paving the way and setting new standards of quality and efficiency.

Currently, David is Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Finlight Holding (a Brookfield Renewable affiliate), leading operational strategy, asset management, and the supervision of the engineering department, with a multidisciplinary team of more than 22 professionals. He has managed the execution and optimization of processes that ensure maximum efficiency, profitability, and sustainability, aligning the company’s objectives with the most innovative trends in the sector. His experience includes the construction of more than 1.8 GW and the development of 2.6 GW in utility-scale projects, self-consumption, and hybrid BESS+PV solutions, managing international portfolios across Europe, the United States, Latin America, and Africa.

David has actively participated in international platforms and organizations such as the European Technology & Innovation Platform (ETIP PV) and BEPA/BATT4EU, contributing to innovation and the integration of long-duration storage technologies and new photovoltaic solutions. Although he was previously a member of the International Energy Agency (IEA PVPS), his current focus is on the transformation and digitalization of processes, the homologation of advanced technologies, and the negotiation of PPA, EPC, and supply contracts with top-tier private entities and utilities.

With a solid technical background—including master’s degrees in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and grid-connected photovoltaic systems, as well as certifications in leadership and emotional intelligence—David is recognized for his ability to lead high-performance teams, manage operational excellence, and open new markets, positioning his companies as benchmarks in the global energy sector
